Gift Idea's for Him

So this is a slightly different post than normal because  its more geared towards the men in your life. I have to mention that my husband hardly ever comes over to read my blog because he said I write post mainly for the ladies so he was quite happy when I asked him what types of gifts he would look forward to receiving as a present. His birthday was 2 weeks ago and I've had some hit and misses in regards to gift ideas but from speaking to my husband,4 brothers and other male friends  I  have managed to come up with some gift ideas.

I have to admit I use to absolutely dread buying a gift for my dad, husband, brothers or my other male friends that a card with some money was always the easier option in my mind but there is something sentimental about getting someone a physical gift and it helps you learn more about the person(such as their likes and dislikes). So with that said lets dive in.

SUNGLASSES
Now that is spring and its been so bright and sunny here in London a pair of sunglasses would be a great gift, also its nice to have a pair when travelling on holiday. Depending on the occasion and your budget you can buy a pair of designers like Ray Bans which you can purchase from Here or you can purchase sunglasses from high street stores like New Look, Officer Club and H and M. H and M does some really nice men sunglasses and you can find them Here!

BOOKS
Despite public opinion alot of men actually read. Alot of people tend to think that reading is more of a woman's thing but alot of the men I know including my brothers and husband read. They tend to read alot of fitness, health books and cook books because they are into the gym and cooking. So if you know what the person your getting the gift for is into you can probably get a book. Amazon is the place to get inexpensive books and another thing I've found is when I have bought a few books used from Amazon they have come looking brand new so there you go:)

Another alternative is a diary a really nice one with a smart pen or a humorous one that's personalised. Card Factory does some really nice ones that are inexpensive and you can find them Here!

AFTERSHAVE OR COLOGNE
Ahh the classic gift for men of all ages.I love the smell of aftershave and when I find a nice one that I think someone would love even if at first there not use to the scent I always say wear it and go out and if other people don't like it on you then come back to me. At least 10/10 times I've had one of my female friends come back and said he likes it or everyone kept saying that he smells nice. So yes you cant go wrong with a nice smelling Aftershave or Cologne.
L´Occitane mens aftershave has a wide variety of men's aftershave balms and fragrances that you are bound to find the right scent to suit the man you are buying it for .

CLOTHES
Getting clothes is a nice gift idea especially if you know his size and style. Whether its a nice shirt and tie, hoodie or gym clothes, jacket or coat clothes is just something every man tends to like receiving once its there preferred style of course.Alternatively, if you don't know there style a clothing voucher is always great or an alternative to clothes would be a pair of trainers or shoes.Officer Club does some nice clothing and shoes for men when I go there with my husband or brothers we always end up spending heaps. Also the quality of their clothes is so good they last.

TECH
For the Mr Techy or the guys that are into their gadgets you can purchase a tablet, game console, iwatch, the latest phone and the list continues. If the person your buying a gift for is into tech most likely they will go on about the latest gadget like a few of my friends. And if you don't have the budget to get them the new latest tech craze if there into games a new game cd for their playstation or game console will do.

WATCH AND WALLET
To be honest I use to get a wallett when I had no idea what to get someone but they've made so many quality mens walletts that you can even get a high end one from Ted Baker or you can get a nice inexpensive one from a high street store M and S, H and M and the list continues. Also I love purchasing a watch when I'm buying an item for a man. It could be high-end or inexpensive there's just something about giving a watch as a gift that just impresses.

TICKETS
All the men I know are into their football and when their into their football their into their football. Getting him some tickets for him and his best mate to watch a live match would be great or if you don't mind sitting and watching him scream at the top of his voice at footballers kicking a ball around for 90 minutes you can go with him. Another alternative to football is getting him some music tickets so he can watch his favourite artist or the theatre. Also if he's the adventurous type paint balling, dirt biking and the race course are all good options. I think you cant go wrong with Tickets since you can take loads of photo's and treasure the moments.

SHAVING KIT
Shaving Kits are always something handy to have for a man you never know they might not get to* the Barbers in time or they want to start doing it their self. My husband has been forever buying shaving kits, he buys the inexpensive ones but I'm planning to save and get him a real expensive kit so he can DIY until his little heart desires and not need to always replace it or alternate between a few of them.

So whether your buying for a mr techy, the biggest football fan or the savvy reader this list is sure to help you to pick out the perfect gift. Also these gifts will suit any budget.I'm hoping these tips will help you out! I'm always thinking of great gift ideas to get the men in my life so let me know any gift idea's you may have in the comments below.

  1. I love the ideas of a watch and a book. Those are great gifts that will come in handy and the book will be great to be able to engage the mind and give a break to the tv or phone.

    1. Yes a book makes for great conversation as well if you have read it so it's a great mental break from the television and phone.

  5. While all of these sounds like BRILLIANT gifts for men sadly none of these are suited to my brother (to whom I'm going to be giving some gift soon!) :D Haha! He is a super tech guy but there's nothing techy that I can get for him right now either - he has everything he wants. Which makes it super difficult! However, he has recently been in love with his french press and I was thinking of gifting him one of those tea infusers. I saw some online that were funny and others that were more classic and I really like them. I'm still not sure if that's what I'll end up buying!
Great post and perfect ideas! If only my brother was easier to give a gift to! :)

    1. Haha my cousin is the same he's so into tech that he has everything and I probably wouldn't be able to afford some things that he's got his eye on. I've never thought of giving a tea infuser so that's given me another option for future gifts. Aww I'm sure you'll figure out something to get him there's always a few that are hard to get gifts for regardless!

  6. My hubby loves getting books and tech gadgets. Great reading this gift guide for men, makes a change (plus I've just written a women's gift guide for Mother's Day so I'm kind of sick of that at this point haha).
